 Mary Potter Trust Foundation

The Mary Potter Trust foundation exists to provide opportunity for those who do not have the resources to improve their life.

Following the vision of the founder, the Trust believes that every human person is a gift from God and utterly unique. This is not society's view however. There are many in our community who do not share in the good things of the earth. They are the 'outsiders' - those who are not according the respect or the rights due to them as beloved children of God.

The Mary Potter Trust foundation provides support to community groups who are improving the lives of marginalized people.  Many community groups who make real and lasting changes in the lives of the less fortunate go unrecognized. The Trust help such groups in their endeavours to make lasting change in the lives of those they serve.

Grants are available for programs that deal with the causes of injustice, even in small ways.

In particular we support:

  • Community Groups
  • Work that addresses human rights
  • Programs that deal with the causes of social inequality
  • Applicants who can demonstrate the skills needed to carry out the project
  • Projects that need seed funding, rather than recurrent funding and that are innovative.

Applicants must be not-for-profit community groups based within Australia, supporting projects that are Australian based. Evidence of income tax exemption is required. We are happy to be one of a number of supporters of a project.

Groups that have already received support from the Mary Potter Trust Foundation:

  • Wandana Community Centre - Funding for a Muslim community project worker
  • Cystic Fibrosis Literacy Program
  • Glendyne for Girls - Funding for a part time indigenous Youth Worker to assist indigenous girls going through Baptist Care's Glendyne for Girls progam.

If you have a proposal, or would like to discuss making a donation to this worthwhile cause, please contact the Mary Potter Trust Foundation at: info@marypotterfoundation.org.au
