As
a group of vowed women who have freely chosen to live within community,
our life together expresses our vocation and is confirmed by our
commitment to prayer, work and the development of healthy and creative
lifestyles. Interdependence
- rather than independence or co-dependence - means that each values and
respects the gifts, talents and person of the other. Following
Jesus in religious life is a challenge. We seek to learn from Jesus how
to be a real disciple. Living religious life means learning what it
means to be a “real” Christian and then striving to live out of
those values within a particular life-style - which is the unique
charism of a given religious community. The
vocation of a sister of the Little Company of Mary, and that of our
associates and affiliates, is a call to hear the suffering of the world,
and to offer our lives that others might have life. It is a vocation to
live simply, to live out of an enduring hope in the power of grace to
transform nature and to bring God's promise to fulfillment. Our idealism
is lived out in the ordinariness of our lives. Choosing
to live simply and with an open hearted attitude towards all, our homes
are places of hospitality for others, and following the teachings of our
founder, we seek to apply the principles of community laid down for us.
