Sharing my LCM journey of 60 years – Sr Mercia Hoy LCM
Thank you for the love, prayers and gifts for my Diamond Jubilee last month.
I chose to have a celebration on 26th April with a Parish Mass. Srs Bernadette Fitzgerald, Judith Barwick and Jennifer Barrow were present, along with the Church Community. This was followed by morning tea and shared companionship.
During this week Srs Mary Treacy and Monica Whelan were in Melbourne and we shared an enjoyable lunch, together with Margaret Broadbent RSM.
Three of us – Srs Justina Gaudron, Cecilia Mulcare RIP and myself entered at the same time. It was great to speak with Justina and hear of her celebration with the LCM Sisters and her family at LCM Ryde. We spoke of our years in the Novitiate. Mother Thaddeus called us Faith, Hope, and Charity. Cecilia Mulcare RIP who entered with us, was named Charity.
Over these special days, I recalled that while I was on the staff at Bethlehem Hospital in the late 1950s, I met Mother Theophane LCM who gave me a copy of The Path of Mary. This influenced my life to bring me where I am today.
With a heart full of gratitude for all that has been, I thank you for sharing my journey over the past 60 years.
United in Spirit and Prayer and as One in the heart of Mary,
