Calvary Hospital and Convent in Wellington served the community for many years before being sold to Wellcare Corporation on 17 March 1987. Following the sale, the chapel was demolished in 1988. A notable moment from this transition was the donation of the chapel bell to Sacred Heart Cathedral, a gesture supported by Sr Raye Boyle and the Little Company of Mary (LCM).
